Weekday workshops

Several workshops are offered from Monday to Friday, for groups only. Advanced booking is required.

Painting workshop. A different way of looking at prehistoric paintings through the eyes of artists and of getting curious information about techniques of representation, pigments, and light used in cave artwork. Participants will be introduced to the aerograph, one of the Palaeolithic inventions used by early artists.

 

Archaeology workshop. An excavation is prepared for participants to trace materials, to interpret them and to draw conclusions. An entertaining way of coming close to the archaeological method and to better understand the role of researchers investigating the past. 

 

Prehistoric toolmaking workshop. Prehistoric people also made objects for daily use. In the late Palaeolithic, toolmaking techniques as well as tool usage gradually changed to become more complex and perfect. This activity is aimed at learning about these toolmaking techniques. 


Other workshop proposals. Get to know first-hand some of the daily customs and activities of our ancestors and the techniques used for daily survival and in artistic creations. Workshops about engraving on various surfaces, the use of different engraving tools, light, portable art, fishing or harpoons complete this set of proposals.
