To the Tito Bustillo Cave

The Tito Bustillo cave is one of the world´s collections of Palaeolithic rock art. In July 2008 it was declared, together with four other Asturian caves and nine more in Cantabria and the Basque Country, a World Heritage Site due to its extraordinary examples of Palaeolithic rock art.

Of the twelve collections that form it, only the Main Panel can be visited during certain months of the year in order to help with the preservation and conservation of the Cave.

 

From 1st March to 29th October 2017

A visit to the Tito Bustillo Cave can be combined with a tour of the Cave Art Centre, already included in the price of the ticket.

 

Timetables and frequencies: 

Wednesdays to Sundays. Ten trips every. The first trip starts at 10:15 hours and the last one at 17:00 hours. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and 5th and 6th August.

 

General Terms and Conditions

  • To purchase tickets for a group of 20 people or more please call the information and booking number +34 902 306 600 / +34 985 185 860 or email us at reservas@turismoycultura.asturias.es.
  • Check our prices and opening hours before purchasing your ticket. It is the visitors´ responsibility to arrive with sufficient time to visit the museum properly.
  • Tickets will only be valid on the indicated date. Tickets issued for areas that are only opened part-time will only be valid during the morning or the afternoon.
  • No refunds or ticket exchanges will be granted in the event of the client cancelling or not arriving with sufficient time to visit the museum. Changes of date and alterations to the ticket type will likewise not be accepted.
  • Do not forget to print your ticket. Visitors must keep their ticket throughout the entire visit.
  • For discount or special-rate tickets, visitors must show a certifying document at the entrance. If a certifying document is not presented, the ticket will not be valid.
  • Tickets will not be reissued in case of loss, damage, theft or destruction.
  • The Organization cannot ensure the authenticity of tickets that are not purchased at official sales points.
  • To enter the facility and according to the law, visitors may be searched. Visitors are not allowed to enter with objects that the Organization might consider dangerous. This also applies to suitcases and other large objects. The Organization reserves the right of admission.
  • Children must always be accompanied by an appropriate adult (except during children´s activities).
  • The Organization reserves the right to change or modify the scheduling of events taking place in the different facilities. In the event of cancellation, the Organization is committed to refund the price of the ticket.
  • Tickets do not include access to certain complementary activities, such as workshops or temporary exhibitions, which might come at an extra cost.

 

Important information to visit the Tito Bustillo Cave

  • Tickets can be purchased online or onsite at the reception desk of the Rupestrian Art Centre. The visit is restricted to a maximum of 150 people per day. It is therefore necessary to purchase all tickets online well in advance during peak periods.
  • Payment for tickets purchased onsite must be made in cash.
  • Entrance is free on Wednesdays. Tickets have to be collected following the same procedures as during paying days. If you are unable to attend, please call +34 902 306 600 / +34 985 185 860 or email reservas@turismoycultura.asturias.es
  • Guided visits are only in Spanish.
  • Maximum punctuality is required. Clients must arrive at the reception desk of the Rupestrian Art Centre, located at 200 metres from the entrance of the Cave, at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time of their tickets in order to confirm the visit. Otherwise, they will lose their right to enter the Cave.
  • The minimum age to access the Cave is 7 years.
  • We discourage people with reduced mobility or vision to visit the Cave.
  • We recommend wearing warm clothes and suitable footwear, since the ground is muddy, wet and slippery. The temperature inside the Cave is around 13ºC.
  • It is forbidden to film or take photographs inside the Tito Bustillo Cave; food and drinks are also not allowed.
  • Smoking is prohibited.
  • Pets cannot enter the Cave.
  • Clients with tickets for the Rupestrian Art Centre or the Rupestrian Art Centre and the Tito Bustillo Cave can visit the cave La Cuevona de Ardines without additional cost. Even after purchasing your ticket, there is no guarantee that you will visit la Cuevona. Passes are handed out on a first-come first-serve basis, from the opening of the Centre until all daily slots have been filled.
  • Reduced prices will be applied to those who present a ticket for the Jurassic Museum of Asturias or the Teverga Prehistoric Park.
